Hot stone massage uses smooth, heated stones along with your therapist’s hands. The warmth helps tight muscles relax, so your RMT can work more comfortably, and many people find it deeply soothing, especially in Edmonton’s cold months. Every session is with a registered massage therapist (RMT).
Stones are warmed to a comfortable temperature. Your RMT may place some on your back or hands and use others to massage, gliding them over tight areas. The heat is checked before it touches your skin, and you can ask for less heat at any time.
Hot stones can be added to any relaxation, therapeutic or deep tissue massage for $25. For example, a 60-minute massage with hot stones is $125 (GST included).
Booking for two? Try our hot stone couples massage: 60 minutes $130 per person, 90 minutes $180 per person.
Because it is done by an RMT, many extended health plans cover the massage. We direct bill most insurers.
No. The stones are warm, not hot, and your RMT checks the temperature first. Let us know right away if anything feels too warm.
Heat is not a good idea for everyone. Please check with your doctor first if you are pregnant, have diabetes or reduced feeling in your skin, circulation problems, high blood pressure, or a skin condition or sunburn in the area.
